Round 1 with my Big Batch Weekend Tomato Sauce. Planning to use about one-third of this yummy sauce in this dish.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Here are my key ingredients for this casserole, along with the sauce.
Love this multi-grain pasta – full of nutrition like extra fiber, calcium and vitamin D. Cook about 2 cups according to package directions, and then drain.
Coat the casserole dish with PAM spray first. Pour half the pasta into the casserole dish, mix with a big ladle of tomato sauce, and then cover with a layer of both shredded cheeses.
Then repeat the layering one more time, ending with the cheeses. Pop into the oven for about 20-30 minutes, or until bubbly. This will be enough for two meals for us.
Pair with tossed salad for an easy, and delicious, meal. Remember, half the plate veggies (the salad). The other half starch (pasta) and protein (cheeses).
I love cheese.
I love pasta.
I love one pot wonders.
Can’t go wrong! It’s the P-E-R-F-E-C-T combination.
HAH – me too!! Cheese makes anything taste great. And pasta combines with anything at all!!!!
